With the development of the original DELTABLOC® safety barrier technology and since its foundation in the year 2000, DELTABLOC International became a pioneer in passive road safety and has been doing its utmost to create a safe environment for all road users. As it often happens in life, it was an incremental process. Even though we set new standards in passive road safety two decades ago, we have continued to change and shape the market and grow steadily – to new challenges, to technical progress and to your needs and wishes. This has made us a reliable, innovative and high-quality supplier of vehicle restraint systems and noise barriers. More than 320 crash tests not only prove the effectiveness of our product range, but also make it the most successful, safest and most advanced on the market worldwide. As Kirchdorfer Road & Traffic, DELTABLOC® is part of the Kirchdorfer Group, a privately owned international building materials corporation based in Kirchdorf/Upper Austria. We are looking forward to the future and wondering what changes the next 20 years will bring. But what we already know: Our products are becoming more and more important. 1993

DELTABLOC® takes road safety to a new level

The big test phase began. As early as the 1980s, concrete safety barriers were being tested based on the "New Jersey model", which was invented in the 1960s and served as the basis for concrete safety barriers.

1995

Launch of first safety barriers

The first prefabricated safety barriers of DELTABLOC Europe GmbH found a new home: the day of the official market entry in Austria.

2000

We protect internationally

After the official foundation of DELTABLOC International GmbH, not only concrete safety barriers but also international business relations are established through license agreements.

2007

Tremendous growth in safety

The first subsidiaries are founded in 2006 in France and Germany and in 2008 in the Netherlands. The considerable number of 30 licenses in 24 countries speaks for the successful concept.

2010

Still unheard of in the world - up until now

Further subsidiaries are founded in England and South Africa . The hour of birth of PHONOBLOC® has come. The innovative, space-saving 2-in-1 system, which combines vehicle restraint systems with noise barriers, is the first to enter the noise protection market. Everything is going great: DELTABLOC International is elected Austria's most successful export company.

2012

Safety, no matter where

A further milestone is the development of the DELTABLOC® EP series, with which safety requirements can be met everywhere and regardless of the surface. It is the first in-situ concrete barrier system that meets all standard and durability requirements. Without compromises.

2017

Safety in numbers

Since 2016 DELTABLOC® is also represented by a subsidiary in Slovenia and is active in more than 43 countries. More than 800,000 barriers have been permanently installed.

2018

A piece of perfection instead of a piece of concrete

Romania joins the group of DELTABLOC® branches. 2018 is also the year in which another life-saving innovation is created. The patented "Zero Debris Concrete" makes the barrier incredibly robust and in the case of an impact has no breakouts or detached parts.

2020

DELTABLOC® turns 20

We celebrate our anniversary and look forward to many more years. With over 20 years of experience we realized hundreds of road safety projects globally, launched many innovations and raised road safety to a new level.

2021

The growth journey continues

With the opening of DELTABLOC Sverige AB in May this year we have now subsidiaries in 8 European countries and in South Africa.

We take the Road to Green

The development of sustainable concrete safety barriers aligns with our collective responsibility to protect lives and the planet. With the development of green technologies we reach an impressive carbon reduction of our barriers.
